He has over 20 years of infrastructure investment, investment banking, and infrastructure operating company experience.

As a principal and co-Founder at Odyssey Capital, he co-founded Tigris Water Fund, which had global institutional investors (Macquarie Capital, Eastspring, FMO and Nippon Koei) as investors. He has advised more than a dozen water companies in Asia on various strategic and fund raising mandates on Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects in growth markets in Asia, including India, Indonesia, China, Philippines, and Thailand. He has worked with various Singapore Government agencies (e.g. Spring Singapore) and industry associations (e.g. Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore) on training SMEs.

Mr. Yeung was formerly an Investment Officer at International Finance Corporation (IFC), based in Hong Kong. He was responsible for business development, and delivering the investment program for IFC in the East Asia Pacific Region, including China, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and other emerging economies. He was part of a team which developed an investment pipeline of over USD1,500 million of investment opportunities (project financing, equity and mezzanine investments) in power, water, ports, shipping, renewable energy and other infrastructure sectors. He also supervised a number of IFC’s existing portfolio investments. He participated in IFC’s Panda Bond, which was the first RMB bond issuance by a foreign investor in China, and mobilized World Bank funds for company-specific technical assistance in China and East Timor.

Mr. Yeung was previously Vice President of Hyflux Water Trust (HWT), the first global water business trust listed in a stock exchange in Asia. He had overall responsibility for HWT’s investment program, and day-to-day portfolio management of existing water assets. He was a key member of team which led the IPO listing of HWT on the Singapore Stock Exchange, and served as a director of 11 water SPVs.

Mr. Yeung was also a member of a team engaged by USAID to advise the Government of Pakistan on the financing strategy for the USD16 billion 4,500 MW multi-purpose Daimer Basha hydro-power project on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis.

He helped to set up the Singapore office, and was responsible for project and structured financing loans in India, and developing cross-border M&A infrastructure projects for SREI and its Indian clients. He led and negotiated a USD70 million credit line to SREI from a consortium of Dutch, French and German bilateral agencies. He represented SREI as a Board director of a USD150 million Singapore-based barge operator.

He was previously a consultant with Global Environment Facility (GEF, a World Bank-related institution) in Washington, D.C., responsible for monitoring and evaluating GEF’s private sector projects in climate change and energy efficiency in China and India.

He also was an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston and Bankers Trust, in Sydney, where he worked on a number of landmark M&A transactions in the financial institutions group.
